Speeds and Feeds: A GTU Lesson with Tom

Visit the GTU page where you can view this week’s video lesson or watch below.

Greene Tool is excited to start 2013 with a new Greene Tool U video lesson with Tom. In today’s video, Tom reviews the fundamentals of SFPM he covered last month, and then he discusses how to increase and calculate RPM and SFPM when dealing with different materials and work pieces. We use fixed and variable spindle speed machine examples to discuss adjusting speeds and feeds on different materials and hardnesses. Tom discusses what do about generating heat when drilling, as well.

As we continue into 2013, feel free to contact Tom to suggest a video topic you’d like him to cover on the GTU series. Our aim with all our educational resources, including the Troubleshooting Advisers, is to become your trusted resource on machine tool fundamentals and provide basic instruction to new employees to your shop.

As always, please help us get the word out about GTU and forward this page to your friends. Let’s broaden the Greene Tool online community: encourage your friends to sign up for our newsletter and follow us on Facebook!
