Tool Selection: Changing feeds and speeds isn’t the only way to make money!

GTS knows changing feeds and speeds is only one way to make money

Whether your goal is to reduce cycle time or the number of tools in an operation, Greene Tool knows how to design and manufacture tools that outperform standard technology.

Recently, one of our customers wanted to reduce cycle time as they were machining an S.A.E. port form and spool bore combination. The operation included drilling a lead hole for the spool bore, then drilling the port form thread diameter, and then completing the port form with a drill and a reamer.

We designed a single tool for them that would drill the lead hole and put in the complete S.A.E. port form in one operation. We then came back to drill the spool bore to depth and ream. The tool we designed achieved their objective of reducing cycle time.

It is common for Greene Tool to manufacture port forms that have multiple configurations. Our team of problem solvers excels at developing cutting tools that work. At Greene Tool, we don’t just think outside of the box, we live there.
