Welcome to part two of our series on Cutting Tool basics.  This week Tom Greene discusses the fundamental concepts behind tapping.  Specifically, the purpose, calculations, and tips behind one of the most common cutting tools in machining. While this is may be designed for newer engineers and machinists, it never hurts even the most chiseled of veterans to get refreshed on these concepts.
