Tom Greene, President and Founder
Tom received his journeyman papers in 1971 from Landis Tool Company/Gardner Machine.
He then worked in machine assembly and double disk grinding applications before being promoted to abrasive sales for Gardner Machine in Cleveland, Ohio. In 1976, he went to work in Dayton, Ohio for J. Lee Hackett selling machine tools. In 1980, he went to work for G. R. Kraus Machinery, Cincinnati, selling Mazak, Walter, and other machine tools in the Dayton area.
Tom is involved in all sales, customer support, and research and development for Greene Tool. Tom works with his engineering staff to develop and troubleshoot customer production issues and new design concepts. He believes in a team approach to customer service and works very closely with his two senior employees, Dave and Barney.
Dave Iddings, VP of Engineering
Dave earned a B.S. in mechanical engineering from Wright State University and started designing cutting tools at Greene Tool after graduation. For a short time, he designed jet engine lift fixtures for General Electric through Belcan Engineering. Upon returning to Greene Tool, Dave headed up our engineering design team. He is now in charge of all cutting tool designs and turnkey tooling projects, customer service process and cutting tool issues.
Barney McClain, VP of Manufacturing
Barney earned his engineering degree from the University of Dayton. He then worked at Dresser LeRoy prototyping new compressors for export. He obtained extensive experience in machine tool components and cutting tools with J.R. Kuntz for 20 years. For the last 11 years, Barney has held various sales and management positions within the company; he is now responsible for all manufacturing processes, purchasing, and quotations at Greene Tool Systems.
